Dancing Sun is located between surrealistic greek beaches & witty labyrinths with a storytelling alignment plied by Bert Dittrich (AT).

DS started round 2007 with neverending songs followed by several audio plays about heroism, dungeon kingdoms & port wine. This got destilled in Dancing Suns musical universe oscillating atween carcassesque gits, krautsynths & fabulous soundscapes.

Entanglements as toolkit for a tale or as chains & salvation. A residence in a Labyrinth with the worm‘s eye instead of the bird‘s eye view is a serious matter. Michael Ende consummated his neverending story, winded up the tale, hatched the lucky dragon‘s egg, found a way for him & his illustrious guild out of the fantasy maze.
I‘ve been sojourner in the Labyrinth between 2007-2015. Playgroundtime to research & refine the core of Dancing Sun. Metal, prog, pop, jazz, theatre stuff, storytelling plays, soundtracks, orchestral, electronical, in german & english, a wonderful cracy shit betwixt genre borders lasting between Dead can Dance’s first album & Edge of Sanity‘s ‘Crimson’.
And yes, it’s time to mention ✺ Mortal Coil ✺ (1996-2004).
2016
Back then I had sessions with a many faceted drummer on 3 arrangements (Doom, Sludge & Gorefest’s ‘Dragon Man’) based on a concept about the Moon, but didn’t fall in love with the rehearsals. I tried different drum production engines with synthetic sounding snaredrums, so I was nearly daring to play the battery myself. My drumskills are crap, I played drums in an alternative band. I would have released Firefable in 2029, if I wouldn’t have bumped into a sequencer, that met my expectations. Further a Prog Metal & a Reggae drummer refused to play the Heart Tales album and a Grind/Sludge drummer called of the upcoming ‘The Spirit Tales’ sessions after confirming. It is like it is, it’s a loving pile of work to set up the DS drums, and it fits Dancing Sun. Beside there are crackling fire feeling strings, furs, bones, woods, whatsoever arsenal of guitars, tribal percussion & ethno instruments round the Dancing Suniverse.
Unbosom, the first never released album didn‘t achieve the set ideals soundwise, the tracks had been painted over by the upcoming Firefable vibe, that matched with my set idea of a heavy, dark album as a debut.

The long time produced ֎ Firefable ֎ was meant to function as a metal oriented foundation, a heavy steady fundament on which other manifold sides of Dancing Sun could be built.
Firefable‘s arrangements got stratisfied by dozens of layers. The basic structure of „Dead Waters“ for instance had been the framework for the ancestry search of my family, which was later fullfilled in „Tree“. The tale itself has a life, you cannot plant a tomato in the desert. The tribe‘s plot didn‘t work out, but Religion, Jeremiah on the one side and the idolatry & arrogance of a religious formation at the other hand worked out for ‘Dead Waters’. On my mixing odyssea I sojourned at islands of woods to stay sane. I‘m quite happy with the Firefable debut.

※ Heart Tales ※ happened. To digest life, as good old escapism. Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Books were about to find their path through the thicket of a Dancing Sun release, when the first song of the love sessions „Fuck the Angst!“ popped out of the bush fire. Heart Tales, what a cracy fast ride on the storm.
Andi Gassner at the mixing desks, and Tony Lindgren once again at swedish Fascination Street Studios mastering, balanced the multicolored Heart vessel with tons of space atween the surges.

Doors were opening after the Heart Tales album. The Firefable dungeon cellar and the Heart Tales fundament with mosaic floors were laid. It’s time for an open range…
Felicitous albums are a ride with the magic cauldron, fortunately something happens beyond closed eyes. There are heavily made up women dressed with fancy remastered vestures, that can’t compete with the magical sex appeal of Louis de Funès in ‘La soupe aux choux’. Moreover there are such wonderful crappy recordings, so let’s slip the slide of the old chewing gum factory. If there are people remaking the Wickerman with Nicolas Cage, the Sun might have the mojo to release the old unbosom songs.

There had been 2 or 3 songs while the Firefable sessions based on a tale of the adventures of the Xperts in sitting and waiting. At the end there was only one song released with ‘Firefable’ itself. This idea came back in 21 when I was longing to be at my greek beach while surfing the wave workwise at a refreshing cracy project. The ‘Interview with the Sea’, later called ‘Weathered’ follows the further path of the Xperts.
The Soundtrack to a trailblazing documentary on ❃ ‘Populism’ ❃ by the magnificent Jürgen Schaflechner is waiting to be fullfilled.
And then there are tons of songs in the desk based on Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’ - ‘The Spirit books’.
Damn, how will the Sun release all of this while sitting in a garden behind the beach at the end of the world.

3 years after the last release the ‘Weathered’ concept was released. It’s Dancing Sun’s most personal multishaped adventure concentrating autobiographical storytelling & music in the heart of nature.
The first two Singles ‘Retreat’ & ‘Pinball Sun’ are located as a preface key to the beach adventure.
Andi Gassner again on the mixing desks, the village above the beach at the end of the world, where my personal winter fable plays, got involved by text editing & rehearsing. Well, finally also the artwork was taken over by the Dancing Sun department.
The Populism documentary got cancelled.
In 2023 I found out that Youtube & Instagram have been invented.
